JHL Forestry

. . . is a First Nation’s business partnership operating
in northeastern Alberta since 2004.

Chipewyan Prairie First Nation located in Janvier Alberta
and Heart Lake First Nation formed a partnership in 2003
with a large pulp producer, Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries (Al-Pac),
to create a sustainable logging company.

Al-Pac provided hands on leadership, management and direction for the new venture
and remains active on the JHL board of directors.

Logging operations commenced in early 2004 on the Al-Pac Forest Management Area (FMA)
in the northeastern boreal region of Alberta.

JHL Forestry has grown into a full service “stump to roadside” logging contractor
with a capacity of 300,000 m3 per year.
